Need words? Here are a few from the WAC510 Product Data Sheet:
o One PoE port (WAN port) on both models for ease of deployment.

Perhaps for some of us.

Some people would prefer not to run more wires than necessary to
"Something that is bought to be mounted on the wall or ceiling".

It's possible that the Netgear folks in charge of the "Business
Wireless" product line expected customers to have some grasp on what
they were buying, and how to install it. Or, at least, the ability to
find and comprehend the relevant documentation:
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get some. Read.
Entertaining indignation, though.

"Ma, _he_ started it!"
If you had started with something like the following, then my
response would likely have been quite different:
I bought a new WAC510, which has a power jack, but no power
adapter was included in the kit. What am I missing?
See the difference? But NOooo... You had to get all huffy, right
off the line.

"everything" and "everything I could think of" are spelled
differently for a reason. But the latter is usually adjustable.
If you don't have the appropriate PoE gizmos/capabilities, then you'd
need a conventional power adapter. As the documentation suggests,
either method can be used.
