Hi everyone. Apologies, this may have come up here before.
Recently, my Nighthawk R7000 wifi router is dropping the ethernet connection to my iMac. For the most part, wifi signal to my devices continues to be fine. Just this morning, it started dropping both.
I have tried powering everything down and satarting it back up.
Firmware is up to date.
It seems to be worst when I fire up my Mac for the first time in the day. It gets better as the day wears on.
Believe it or not, it seems to help if I unplug the enthernet line out from one of the four ports in the back, and plug it into a dfferent open port. Suddenly, that connects me.
Sometimes, I can use the wifi signal to the Mac...that connects, but the ethernet won't. Just this morning, it started also dropping the ethernet.
When I go into system preferences (then Network settings) on the iMac, it shows the ethernet connected!
Is my router slowly dying? It's not very old. Maybe about 4 years.
