R8000 Firmware Version 1.0.2.46 is not available using GUI in France. I have received an email telling me to use the genie app by I can't update my R8000 as no update is available this way?
I always have updated my routers using GUI update, why should I change for this version ?

Thank, you for your answer. But my question was : why this update is not available using GUI ? And this update is important for the security, Netgear sent us a mail to update via Genie app ! But this is just impossible!
I think there an issue for this update, that should be available, most of pepole don't do manual update.
It is possible that the GUI update checker may not be connecting to the server. I recommend manually flashing the router firmware for now to ensure that it is properly installed.
