Wifi dropping on different devices, speeds are good but how do i stop getting disconnected?
Hi All,
In the last few days devices wifi signal has not been connecting, just hangs.....Honeywell thermostat not connecting, laptops not connecting and phones.
Left the house and when i returned my phone reconnected but whilst at home rebooting phone and / or router made no difference, speeds on router are good between 30-110 depending on location in house....
Any ideas please on what i can do?
I also have the wifi running down to mycabin in the garden and i get constant 110 wifi no disconnection on any devices etc. its just in the house
Thanks

Re: Wifi dropping on different devices, speeds are good but how do i stop getting disconnected?
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Is Armor, Smart Connect and WMM enabled?
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

Re: Wifi dropping on different devices, speeds are good but how do i stop getting disconnected?
Hi Furrye38, thanks for responding...Im not that tech minded but purchased the netgear 18 months ago as my vrigin router was just not cutting it and it definetly improved the coverage throughout the house albiet still have some issues in different rooms....i have tried to answer your questions below:
What Firmware version is currently loaded? V1.0.4.76
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too? Virgin router
What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz. - I had it on smart connect using the app but switched off earlier...no reason behind it though - not sure how to change channel, cant find it on the app?
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many? Sorry, what does that mean (Wifi neighbours? as in next door neighbours then yes.
ARMOR has expired, not sure what WMM is?

Re: Wifi dropping on different devices, speeds are good but how do i stop getting disconnected?
What mode is the Virgin router working in? Is it in router mode with wifi still enabled or is it bridged?
This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the NG router to the modem, LAN to LAN configure AP mode on the NG router.
Regarding WMM: Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
You need to log into the routers web page using a PC or laptop and a web browser like FireFox or MS Edge or Opera to change channels.
Wifi Neighbors are yes homes near buy with there own wifi signals.
