iOS updates blocked

Hi,

My router is set up as standard, and had no issues with upates until recently. My iOS devices will not update and states it cannot connect for the update. The only work around to download is to put the device in celular mode, which then shows the update, and switch back into wifi mode to download the software. The app store works fine without this work around, and updates on Mac work fine too.

All devices are running iOS 14 and are fairly new devices (XR, XS and iPad Air 3). 

I now have an issue with an apple watch update, as it is wifi only. 

My router has the latest software, and other than the above, has no issues with wifi connection.

Any help would be really appreciated!

"The latest" changes. what actual version of the firmware are you on? 

What modem are you using? 

are you using any parental controls?

Firmware is V1.0.4.62_10.1.74

Modem is a Virgin Hub 3 in Modem Mode

No Parental Controls

Vigin hubs are notorious for having a not properly setup passthrough/modem only mode. 

Have you tried running the vigin hub in router mode (disable its wireless) and putting the R8000 in access point mode?
