i did an update on my modem and now im having issues with devices dropping myself network or devices logging off and not allowing to log back on

What modem do you have?
Did you update the router?
to what firmware did you install?
Did you try a factory reset and clean install (not from backup)? usually the first step when there's issues after a firmware change.
The R8000 is a router not a modem. Try a factory reset and reconfigure from scratch
