Guest Network Isolation: Nighthawk R8000
My Setup is
Nighthawk R8000 --- TP-Link RE205 AC750 Universal Wireless Dual Band Range Extender
Both devices are running the latest Firmware as of 23 June 2022.
I have 2 networks: Main 5GHZ and the Guest Network on 2.4GHZ
I have enabled Client Isolation on the guest network.
The problem arises when I connect through my TPLINK Range extender... I can access all my devices on the 5GHz Main network (as it should be) for the first 10 mins after rebooting the range extender.. then suddenly it isolates all clients on the main network too (not guest network) but only through the range extender. every time I need access to other computers I have to reboot the range extender and then connect which again works for 10 minutes.
If I connect directly to the Netgear on Wi-Fi on the MAIN network (5GHz) everything works as it should... while client isolation works perfectly on the 2.4GHz Guest network.
Any solution to the above?

Would be something to discuss with the TP-Link people regarding there extender product.

So if you're only using the router, everything works as it should?

Re: Guest Network Isolation: Nighthawk R8000
I doubt that ... as Client isolation works from NG... not tplink...

Re: Guest Network Isolation: Nighthawk R8000
Problem is that most extenders work by assigning a virtual mac address to devices connecting to the extender.
And if everything works as it should when running through the router, I'd be looking closer at the extender.
