hi guys.
hope this one help 🙂
first time installation
cable isp
1st thing 1st
1. bypass: wired any device directly from your modem and check if you can go online
*if its not-try to powercycle for 2min.-then try again-still not?-need to call isp 🙂
*if yes, proceed w/ this 🙂
2. wall out
*yellow port of your netgear to the modem
*connect computer wired to any lan ports of your netgear router
*check lan leds
power: white
internet: white/red
2.4 and 5gh/z: white or (if no light)
press wifi button
2.4 and 5gh/z: must be lit up
3. open google chrome browser (or any)
4. access routerlogin.net or routerlogin.com or 192.168.1.1
*something says detecting... or checking...
5. authentication (by default-lowercases)
*username: admin
*passwotrd: password
6. encounter this question: do you want netgaer genie to help
*click: no, i want to configure it myself
*them next: Yes
*admin account settings (you may refer to no. 5)
*answer security questions
7. at last! netgear genie settings
*you will see the 1st box says "internet status: not connected"
*click the box
*go down to IP Address-get dynamically from ISP
*next: DNS-get automatically from ISP
*last: router MAC address: click the 2nd option üse computer mac address"
*click apply (at the top)
*wait for the settings to completely update and done
8. Internet light on the router went white?
*check if you can go online
*if yes? Good Job!
*if not? no worries
*powercycle the router and after
*powercycle the modem for 2min.
*then try to access websites (still not?-need to call isp 🙂
You will now be able to get online!
