do you get the same if you use another speed test site? If you do, then I'm out of ideas.
if you modem is a Gateway (modem+router) you need to set it in Bridge mode and use the R7800 as router

Re: NightHawk R7800 upload speed
This is not the latest firmware for the R7800, which is 1.0.2.62
Are you sure you have an R7800?

Re: NightHawk R7800 upload speed
Try a factory reset and manual reconfiguration. There are quite a few changes between .58 and .62 firmware

Re: NightHawk R7800 upload speed
you need to push in the hole at the back until the power LED starts to flash
Alternatively, you can use the WebGUI 192.168.1.1 and go to Advanced -> Administration -> Backup Settings. There's an option to revert to default values with an "Erase" button

Re: NightHawk R7800 upload speed
how are you testing? wired or wireless? If wireless you may need to "forget" the SSID and connect again to it

Re: NightHawk R7800 upload speed
I don't know, try it. I suspect your Gateway in Bridge mode connected directly to the R7800 WAN port will work
