Router configure after Cox Gigablast upgrade

I just upgraded from a 300mbps plan from Cox cable to the Gigablast plan 1gbps but I cannot get the Wi-Fi to put out what is coming into the router. Using the Nighthawk app I tested my speed and I get over 900mbps at the router which was confirmed by the Cox tech who had his equipment hooked up to it. Using the Ookla Speedtest app I only get 220mbps. What do I have to do to get this Wi-Fi speed output the same as the signal input? I have the Nighthawk X10 router with the Nighthawk AC1900 cable modem router. Appreciate the help!

Re: Router configure after Cox Gigablast upgrade

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

Be sure the isp modem router is bridged.

This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. https://kb.netgear.com/25891/DMZ-on-NETGEAR-routers

What are the wired speeds seen at the R9000 router?

What wireless devices do you have connected to the R9000 router?

You'll only see around 300-500Mbps on 5Ghz AC with a wireless device. Depending upon device support and design.

Wifi on the R9000?

How did you setup and configure the R9000 for AP mode? Use a dynamic or static IP address configuration on the R9000? Static is recommended.

Be sure to connect the R9000 to the host router using the yellow WAN port of the router to connect to the host routers LAN port.

Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable. CAT6 is recommended.

Re: Router configure after Cox Gigablast upgrade

I logged in to router login in safari and went step by step to turn on ap mode. I am screwed now and have no internet and cannot figure out how to change it back since I can’t access it via web page. I am completely out of my element and don’t know what to do

Re: Router configure after Cox Gigablast upgrade

Look at the host routers connected clients page to see if the R9000 got a IP address, it should be listed here, you can connect to the R9000's web page using the new IP address it got from the host router, if the R9000 is connected right.

Couple of items to review to see if they can help:
