Firmware version? Connected to what?

The whole router, or its firmware, or what?

What are these "unauthorized devices"?
What, exactly, does "interrupting my service" mean to you?
None of that is a useful problem description. It does not say what
you did. It does not say what happened when you did it. As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

"showing up" _where_? An Attached Devices report, or what?

"wireless connections" directly to the R7000, or do you have
extenders or wireless access points which are wired to the R7000?
> [...] How can this happen [...]
I don't yet know what "this" is.

Re: Unauthorized Access Wired Users nothing is wired
This is a screenshot of what I see accessing my Netgear Nighthawk. I'm not an expert so I'm thankful for the help. I updated the app and the router recently. My cable company says it's a security issue with the router. There is nothing hard wired in for access to it. Yet the screen shot shows these devices accessing it.
I appreciate your feedback as I have no clue how to block their attempts to access my internet connection. When they log in it slows down my internet and kicked my daughter off of her work meeting yesterday.
So thank you for being so kind and helpful in your responses.

Clearly, those mobile devices can't have (direct) "Wired"
connections to the R7000.

Still wondering.

"updated" to what?

Still a mystery.
I have little confidence in Netgear-supplied apps. You might try
using a web browser to access the router's management web site.
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read. Does an
Attached Devices report agree with what the app says?
If you have no possible wired paths into the R7000, but you have
unauthorized devices connecting to it, then they must be connected
wirelessly. Change the wireless-network passphrases? What are your
wireless security settings?
