I just purchased a Nighthawk and am about to install it. I was wondering if the backed up configuration file of my previous WNDR4500 are compatible and will carry my settings over.
Thanks!

No. Each model is independent and not cross with any other model. You'll need to set up from scratch and make a new config file for back up.
FW, HW and features differ between each model so theres nothing that is the same. Unless you get another 4500.

Re: Upgrading to Nighthawk
Give the R7800 a review. I like mine. Also supports OpenRouters 3rd party FW as well. Same UI, better behind the scenes items.
Good Luck.
