Just wondering why the port where I have my t-mobile line link (voip phone) plugged in is amber. The phone works but i am wondering if the quality is the best. All other lights are white. I have tried different ports and cords. My firmware in up to date. Does this router do the same thing for any viop?

It is probably a 100 mb connection (amber) not a 1 gb connection (white).

As a description, "my t-mobile line link (voip phone)" is much less
useful than a model number would be.

An actual version number would be more useful than your opinion of
what's "up to date" today.
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Look for "LED and button
descriptions".
The LED color indicates the speed: white for Gigabit Ethernet
connections and amber for 100 Mbps or 10 Mbps Ethernet
connections.
(Further reading might not hurt much, either.)
Without an actual model number for your "my t-mobile line link (voip
phone)", it's hard to say what to expect for a link speed, but I doubt
that VOIP needs gigabit speeds for proper operation.

What is that port? LAN?
There is support material, including a manual, for the R7000 somewhere at the end of this link:
