What "Won't connect" to what?
"Won't" is not a useful problem description. It does not say what
you did. It does not say what happened when you did it. As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read. Look for the
LED descriptions and "Troubleshoot". Further reading might not hurt,
either.
If problems remain, then either provide some tiny amount of useful
information, or else consult a psychic hot-line?

Re: can not connect my AC 1000 router
I connected all the wires, (power cord, ethernet cable), three lights go on, but not the forth one. My computer does see the router, but it says it can not connect to the internet, when I disconnect the nighthawk and reconnect the old replacement router, it works and my computer can connect to the internet with the old one, so I know the internet is working, why is the nighthawk not showning internet? This is the second router, as the 1st one was doing the same thing, so I returned it, but I still having the same issue and I am ready to return it and get my money back. If the old router was not working then I can deduct that there's a problem with the carrier, but that is not the case, I'm confused and giving up! I tring to upgrade, but not with the nighthawk. HELP!

What is this computer? (A Windows PC?)
What is the exact message that you see?
It may be that your PC sees this new router and detects a new network. In that case, it isn't the router that is the roadblock, but your PC.
If you run the Network troubleshooter, that may give you some clues.

Re: can not connect my AC 1000 router
Yeah, my computer shows that it can not connect to router, I ran the troubleshooting option, but it said that it can not resolve the issue. The interesting is, why does the old Belkin router connect and work, and the new netgear nighthawk AC1000 doesn't?

They rarely say "cannot connect to router". There is usually some sort of error message.
How are you trying to connect?
Wifi? Wired Ethernet? Bit of string?

Like I said, new router, new network. So new settings needed.
You have been asked a couple of times now to provide some details that might help people to diagnose what is going on . Without that information we are shooting in the dark.

Re: can not connect my AC 1000 router
Is my AC1000 router supposed to show 4 lights on the router? If so, it only shows 3 of them lit up, what could that mean?

Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
and feed in your model number (its probably R6080 because AC1000 is a wifi speed rather than a model number) and check the documentation for your hardware.
Read the section LED Descriptions.
