In my RAX45 router, I reserved some IP addresses for specific devices while leaving the others to be determined by DHCP. However, after a power outage, a reversed IP address was assigned to two different devices, resulting in an IP address conflict warning for the devices. I wanted to change the IP address of one device manually to resolve the issue but could not find where to do it. So, I added a new IP address to be reversed and assigned it to one of the devices with the conflicting IP address. However, the IP address of the device was not changed when I checked in the "Attached Devices" after refreshing the list. The two devices still shared the same IP address. I powered cycle the router, still got the same result.
My questions are:
1. How come the router still assigns the same IP address to two devices even though I reserve the IP address for a specific device? Is it a firmware malfunction?
2. Can I change the IP address of a device manually to resolve the conflicting IP address issue?
You have to restart the device(s) so they can request a new IP from the DHCP which will then give out the reserved one. Restarting the router won't do it

Ok. Something you might do for those two devcies Setup a static IP address outside of the routers default IP address pool. Some devices like NAS and AVRs don't need much or any router management and recommend setting a static IP address on these devices. You'll need to change the routers IP address pool size. I recommend .100 to .200. Then you'll have room on either side of this pool for static IP addressed devices.
