Problem using HTTP / HTTPS Readyshare
Good morning,
I currently have a problem with my RS700 router (Firmware: 1.0.7.82_2.0.80)
I use readyshare to be able to download my files from the internet to my usb key connected to the router but I encounter a problem when I use the HTTP / HTTPS protocols (No problem in SMB)
If I start a download (2GB file) by connecting via HTTP to the router's Lan IP address, the download starts but it stops after 5 seconds then starts again from the beginning and it happens 10 times approximately before indicating that the download failed.
If I launch a download (2GB file) by connecting via HTTPS to the router's Wan IP address, the download starts but it stops after 5 seconds indicating in Chrome "Network Error"
I tried to change the USB key and also to start the download from other devices but the problem is the same.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Re: Problem using HTTP / HTTPS Readyshare
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.
Does this happen in other browsers as well?

Re: Problem using HTTP / HTTPS Readyshare
I believe our Readyshare does not support upload/write through HTTP/HTTPS. You can only upload files to the attached USB storage device through FTP or SMB.

Re: Problem using HTTP / HTTPS Readyshare
Yes, that's what I'm trying to do.
I forgot to specify that I only had this problem with files larger than 1.5GB

Re: Problem using HTTP / HTTPS Readyshare
The problem is not the modem, that's why I specified that I did the test in HTTP on the LAN IP address (RS700)

Re: Problem using HTTP / HTTPS Readyshare
I wonder if we implemented the HTTP/HTTPS PUT function. We will look into it.

Back to the R9000, to my unqualified user knowledge ....HTTP/HTTPS GET function only ... no full WebDAV
That is correct. Thanks.
Hi Taz40,
I've confirmed with the engineering team. We do not support HTTP/HTTPS PUT function, we only support GET.

Re: Problem using HTTP / HTTPS Readyshare
I think there was a misunderstanding because of the translation because my problem only concerns the GET. I do not want to do a PUT.

While people think it's a download from the Internet to the PC, as we face a write to the USB storage, this would be an upload, to the Netgear router USB connected storage device, so for WebDAV a PUT - what isn't implemented.

Re: Problem using HTTP / HTTPS Readyshare
Here is what I want to do (Download) :
The download starts but systematically stops after 5 seconds. If the file is small and it can be downloaded within 5 seconds the download is successful.
HTTPS: My pc (Internet) <--- Internet box <--- Netgear RS700 <--- USB connected to the netgear (After 5 seconds of downloading chrome shows a network error)
HTTP : My pc (Lan) <--- Netgear RS700 <--- USB coonected to the netgear (After the 5 seconds of downloading Chrome tries to restart the download ten times (5 seconds of downloading each time) and indicates an incomplete file error.)
SMB : My pc (lan) <--- Netgear RS700 <--- USB connected to the netgear (With SMB everything works correctly)
I specify that the tests were carried out with the same file for the three protocols
Thanks in advance.

Re: Problem using HTTP / HTTPS Readyshare
Imagine you sit on a data packet ... initially, the data is coming from the Internet (so yes it's a download) - until the data should be stored (written) to the destination, which is either an SMB shared folder (what works) or a WebDAV http or https put (what is not implemented).

Re: Problem using HTTP / HTTPS Readyshare
Thank you Taz40 for the detailed diagrams. What you mentioned "download my files from the internet to my usb key connected to the router" it's to write files to the USB thumb drive.
But from your diagrams, it's to read files from the USB drive.
My pc (Internet) <--- Internet box <--- Netgear RS700 <--- USB
My pc (Lan) <--- Netgear RS700 <--- USB
For the download from the USB drive through HTTP/HTTPS, we can reproduce the issue and now we are working on the fix. Once it's fixed, I will send you a trial firmware through Private Message. Thanks.

Re: Problem using HTTP / HTTPS Readyshare
I've sent you a PM with the link to RS700 trial firmware that fixes the HTTP/HTTPS download issue; you may give it a try.
Thank you.
