Orbi RBRE960 10GB internet port speed issues!
Hello,
I have a 10GB router connected with CAT8 Cable into my Orbi RBRE960 10GB internet port on AP mode. Unfortunately, I can't see more than 5GBPS down and 3GBPS upload speed.
When I am connected to my router's 10GB port directly with my laptop, I see 8GBPS .
Any help please?

Re: Orbi RBRE960 10GB internet port speed issues!
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the host router the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.
Speed testing wired or wireless?
What are the connection rates seen with your test device connected to the RBRs LAN ports?
There's only 1x 2.5Gb LAN port so this will max out here. The other LAN ports are all 1Gb so they will be maxed out here as well.

Re: Orbi RBRE960 10GB internet port speed issues!
Thanks for the replay, and Firmware Version V7.2.6.21_5.0.20, I can confirm that on the router directly, I see 8GBPS using my laptop and 10GBPS network card.
Testing is done on the webgui of the Orbi, on the 2.5GB port i can reach the 2.5GB speed.

You should see 2.5Gb speeds max on the 2.5Gb LAN port on the back of the RBR in AP mode...

Re: Orbi RBRE960 10GB internet port speed issues!
Possible Orbi's choice in testing site. I believe the FW auto picks something closest to your location. Possible test location could be busier than others. Possible host router could be interfering with speed test app on RBR. Possible issue in FW as well. Your probably first person to post about this with having this higher ISP speed. Haven't seen a lot of users at this speed. Some of us are still down here at the 1Gb level. 😉

I thought the speed was limited because it is on AP mode.

Re: Orbi RBRE960 10GB internet port speed issues!
Technically it should not be limited as there is less being processed while in AP mode from Router mode.
Ya, no way to user select a different server. Something I wish NG would include, if possible.

Re: Orbi RBRE960 10GB internet port speed issues!
I'd agree with @FURRYe38 that its probably a result of the speedtest server that is automatically picked with netgears built-in speedtest. We didn't recommend it for people with gigabit service for the longest time because many of the auto-picked servers wouldn't saturate gigabit. We're not seeing that issue as much anymore, but now that users are getting multigig services, I imagine we'll see it crop up more frequently.

Thanks, but now, technically, I can't test the real speed of my internet just because I can't choose a testing server, and since there is no other 10GB port to connect, I can't see the real speed.
Thanks,

Thanks,
It is tough to know 100%. Try running the internal speedtest and one on a connected PC at the same time. If it gets higher numbers than just the router alone, you know you're getting faster speeds. With the 960 only have 2.5gig out, you're a bit limited in your output anyway so the only way to hit faster is hardwired and wireless at the same time.

Zyxel T-75 is the router connecting to Orbi using the 10GB port.

Re: Orbi RBRE960 10GB internet port speed issues!
Does this unit have a fiber port built in or is there a separate ONT unit?
Not pulling up any specs on this T-75 model unit.

Something to try, remove the T-75 router and connect the RBR in router mode, directly up to the ONT, and test speeds.

Don't use the switch. Test directly connected to the RBR.
Brand and model # of this switch?

Re: Orbi RBRE960 10GB internet port speed issues!
Try a factory reset on the RBR and while it's rebooting during that, power OFF the ONT for 30 seconds then back ON. Walk thru the setup wizard on the RBR, complete it and don't enable any Armor or SPC or Traffic Meter. Go directly in and test the speed on the RBRs speed test app.
