No, there is 2FA on Google. This needs to be enabled then have Google generate a 3rd party email app for you. Input this password into the Router. https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833

That's what I needed, thanks! OK, email logs are working now, so now I just need to wait and see if the problem happens again.

👍
Has the problem still been happening since you started configuring email logs?

I haven't seen any dropouts recently. I don't know if that's connected to enabling email logging, or if it's a coincidence.

How many days has it been since last problem appeared?
You can try disabling email logging and see if the problem returns...

Re: Regular network dropouts, but Orbi speed test claims everything is fine
It was last week some time, but it's so irregular (and I don't have any logs about it...) it's hard to be exact. I'll try disabling the logging at some point, but I have to pick a time when I'm willing to lose my network occasionally so it's not so easy. If keeping email logging on makes it work, I have no problem with that.

Ok Disabling email logging won't bring down the network. Just stops the emails from happening.
If it's working, leave it and enjoy.

Re: Regular network dropouts, but Orbi speed test claims everything is fine
I did have another dropout over the weekend, and there's nothing in the logs except a weird pattern of NTP time syncs early in the morning on Sunday. That's presumably not related. I had trouble reaching the router over WiFi from my phone, which suggests that whatever is happening is local; when I did reach it, I ran a speed test and it was fine.
So, bottom line, I seem to be back at square one - my evidence seems to suggest that the router just stops working for a few minutes randomly, and there's nothing in the logs to indicate a problem when it happens.
