IPTV Being Blocked

I actually have THe Orbi Router RBR20. It is connected to my ISP (local Coop). I also have the ONN android tv box and have been using it with the A1IPTV (nocable.cc) service for 6 months or so. I have had my Orbi for longer than that. A week ago I went to watch a different series and it just started buffering. If I hook my laptop directly to the fiber modem I can ping the server. If I do it through wifi I can't. I checked everything I can think of in the Orbi app and don't see that anything is blocked. My armor trial period expired so that shouldn't be affecting it. Parental controls are off. I am at a loss of what to do. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: IPTV Being Blocked

Sorry so late getting back to you. My system is actually an Orbi Router RBR20. My app does not have those same settings. It is the router that is my problem. I used my phone as a hotspot using just cellular data and connected my Onn Android TV box to it and my IPTV works. If I connect my Onn box to my house wifi it doesn't work. I do not see anything in the logs, parental controls are off. I can't figure this out

IPTV stopped working all of a sudden

I have the Orbi RBR20 and it has been working fine for a year or so. The other day my IPTV stopped working. I used my phone as a hotspot (using just cellular service) and connected my Onn Android TV box to it and the IPTV works (but is slow). If I switch back to my Orbi router, the IPTV does not work. Everything else works on the Onn box (YouTube, Netflix etc). I don't see anything in the log file that says anything is being blocked. I even factory reset my Orbi and that didn't help either. Using the command prompt I can ping the IPTV server (www.nocable.cc). Parental controls are off and my Netgear Armor is expired so that is off. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Re: IPTV stopped working all of a sudden

What modem/gateway is the orbi connected to?

Does your isp need vlan's set for their iptv services?

Re: IPTV Being Blocked

Thank you very much for the information. I did just read the article. I tried to follow the instructions as best I could but when I add the profile for the IPTV, I lose all internet. When I unchecked "Enable VLAN/Bridge Group" I get my internet back. What am I doing wrong?Image 012.png

Re: IPTV Being Blocked

One other thing. I am not getting my IPTV from my ISP so do I not need to do what the article said?

....so very unlikely you resp. this A1xIPTV are using an IGMP Multicast based transport coming over a VLAN direct from your internet ISP. So the answer is yes, you don't have to take care about the article referred.

To round this up, your computer or App installed on whatever IPTV-box does very likely use singlecast.

Re: IPTV stopped working all of a sudden

It is a Calix GigaPoint 803G with a fiber line coming into the house. I just want to point out that my actual system is a Orbi RBR20 and since I have narrowed it down to the router, I am concerned that if I buy another Netgear system that I will run into the same problem. I bought the Orbi because of the mesh capabilities and would prefer to not lose that. To recap, the IPTV was funning fine on my existing system for 8 or 9 months so nothing should have changed. I am using an Onn Android TV box and all the other apps on the box work fine. If I use my phone as a hotspot and connect my Onn box to that hotspot it works (using cell service as a source and not WiFi). I have the same ISP and TV box at my shop (different router but same fiber modem) on the other side of town (small town of 700 people) and that system works.

I really appreciate your help with this mess.

Re: IPTV stopped working all of a sudden

The other thing that confuses me is why this issue even happened in the first place and why can't I see why it is blocking the IPTV in the logs or somewhere else. I hate to buy a new router and have the same issue happen.

Re: IPTV stopped working all of a sudden

Still confusing.

What you designate as IPTV - in my reading this fancy A1+IPTV app (correct?) - is probably yet another application like for example YouTube - as such it's technically unrelated to the dedicated VLAN based ICMP Muticast (live) TV.

Or are you using an IPTV Box by (or for) implemented by your ISP, like Calix does for hundreds of IPTV providers, like your small Coop mentioned, and using an IPTV VLAN as designated by your ISP?

The same applies when using a mobile hotspot. Unlikely there is ICMP based Multicast involved. Even on advanced 5G networks here, we don't have any Multicast based IPTV. All live and VOD is coming in by UDP Unicast over the carrier mobile network.

Re: IPTV stopped working all of a sudden

I'm sorry but I don't know what any of that means. I did go buy a new Netgear NightHawk router and my IPTV works now.
