Is My CBR40 dying after only two years??
Over the last week, my CBR40 (+ one satellite) seems to be struggling. First, I'm no longer able to access via the orbi app (previous posts' suggested solutions haven't worked), only via browser. Second, the wired router isn't working - I have two computers connected to the base via ethernet, and the satellite is also hard-wired - so unless all three of those ethernet cables died simultaneously, the problem is with the router in the base station). Wireless is working OK, is there an upper limit to how many wireless devices can connect? Not sure what to do, but it doesn't seem like I should have these kinds of problems with a 2.5yo device that has largely worked flawlessly until this month?

Re: Is My CBR40 dying after only two years??
Hi billForbes,
Welcome to the NETGEAR Community!!!
I understand that you are having an issue connecting your satellites to your CBR40. Please reboot your system then check for connectivity between satellites. If there is still no connection then reset your system using the 30-30-30 reset method.
For more information about factory reset please navigate to the link below:

Re: Is My CBR40 dying after only two years??
I did a factory reset about 90 days ago and that worked. This time I was able to simply power down, unplug all ethernet cables, and then power up and plug them back in one by one. Everything is back to normal, but this feels indicative of a hardware fault in the physical router itself.

Re: Is My CBR40 dying after only two years??
What FW is loaded on the CBR and RBS?
What is the distance between the CBR and RBS?
What CAT# lan cable are you using? CAT6 is recommended.

So only the Orbi app is not connecting?
There was a Orbi app issue seen about 30 days ago.

Re: Is My CBR40 dying after only two years??
there are two problems:
1. the physical router periodically stops working, solution seems to be to reboot, and then reseat/insert all the ethernet cables at the CBR40
2. the orbi app is not connecting - none of the referred suggestions are working
