Major Failures After Firmware 2.0.0.74 Upgrade!
ORBI firmware version 2.0.0.74 is failing! I have used the ORBI RBK50 system since Apr 2017. While running the 1.xx.xx firmware, the conection was incredibly reliable & fast. I had max speeds fro...

This was fixed eventually. Everything was working fine until the V2.1.4.10 update: now AirPrint isn't working. It would be nice if Netgear could perform some quality control.

Oct 08, 2017Maybe he had 2.0.0.77 that was so stable before they downgraded everyone back to .74. .77 was the best release since before 1.11.x.

The story so far:
- 1.12.0.18: Months of fast, reliable performance.
- Installed 2.0.0.74 on Oct 1st: repeated, consistant connection failures start.
- No improvement after trying various combinations of:
- Factory reset all units
- Reload firmware
- Daisy-chain on/off
- Regenerate backhaul password
- UPnP on/off
- Beamforming on/off
- MU-MIMO on/off
- 2 Satellites
- 1 Satellite
- Router only
- I even tried (unsuccessfully) to roll back to the prior firmware version. The router updated, but the satellites refused the old firmware.
- Persistent disconnects continue with 2.0.0.74.
NETGEAR needs to fix 2.0.0.74 ASAP!
NETGEAR, please acknowledge this problem and at least tell your users that a solution is being worked on!

After the 2.0.0.74 firmware update my system with (1) satellite was very stable until yesterday. Then I lost the connection to the satellite. Nothing worked: factory reset router and sat.
Now I am back to this fourm to see others are also having issues.
Wow, this has been a rocky road since last December when I purchased this thing. Life is too short to waste my time changing settings, but unfortunately I did not buy this at Costco, so I am stuck like the rest of you.
Right now I'm going to turn off the UPnP and see how that goes. Fingers crossed!

I've had some success since I rolled back to 1.12.0.18 on my RBR50:
- Powered off both satelites (previously had difficulties installing 1.12.0.18 on my satellites)
- Loaded 1.12.0.18 to the router.
- Verified 2.4GHz connection to my iMac (too distant from router for 5GHz)
- Started large IDrive backup (which had been repeatedly failing on 2.0.0.74)
- Backup has been purring since last night (connection had failed within minutes on 2.0.0.74)
- Won't touch anything until backup finishes.
I consider this proof that 2.0.0.74 is seriously broken!
- IDrive backups work when running 1.12.0.18 firmware.
- I don't know if there is something about the data stream for IDrive that drives ORBI 2.0.0.74 especially crazy.
- I am not sure if there are other disconnection problems for my other apps on 2.0.0.74.
- The issues with IDrive on 2.0.0.74 are dramatic, repeated, & major.
