Hi Netgear community,
I have a Netgear Orbi RBK50 Firmware V2.1.4.16 and do not think the DDNS function is updating my host at NO-IP.COM.
The service is configured with the right hostname and credentials, but when I check "SHOW STATUS" I get the following message:
Window title: http://192.168.33.1/DNS_ddns_status.htm
Message: No update action. There is no IP address on the Internet port.
The Netgear Orbi router has a static WAN port configuration of:
IP: 192.168.0.20
Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS1: 8.8.8.8
DNS2: 8.8.4.4
DNS3: 1.1.1.1
The Orbi wan port is connected to a LAN port of a Telstra Gateway (AUS) Model DJA0230 setup with PPOE to connect, DHCP disabled, 4G Disabled, Wifi Disabled, DMZ to point to the ORBI router WAN IP address.
Orbi router provides WIFI, DHCP to the clients.
Any ideas why?
Thanks
Best regards

Hello @alfred56,
Have you made any recent changes to your configs when the issue occurred?

Hi Christian and thank you for your reply.
I did not make any configuration changes.
I know it was working under previous firmware versions.
I reset everything to factory defaults and reconfigured everything and I still get that message when I check the DDNS status.
Perhaps some Netgear engineers should look into this.

This happens sometimes with me. I also have DDNS from No-IP.com. When this happen I just disable DDNS by unticking "Use a Dynamic DNS Service" then Apply the changes and then do the opposite. The DDNS status will show correctly after that --> xxxxxxx updated successfully at 11:01 PM, 09/18/2018
Thanks for this tip,, it actually worked!
I got this message this time:
xxxxxxxxxx.ddns.net updated successfully at 08:05 PM, 09/19/2018
Netgear needs to fix up the firmware eventually.

Sounds like maybe NG enginneering could make a improvement upon the refresh function of this feature.
Glad you figured it out.

Re: Netgear Orbi RBK50 DDNS issue
This issue occurs almost always after restart of the router. @alfred56, @Christian_R
I have to go to the DDNS setting every time the router is restarted and deactivate/activate to get DDNS working again!
