Orbi Satellites connecting intermittently

I've got an RBR50 with 2 RBS50 satellites.  My son was complaining about connectivity issues in his room even though his room is only down the hall from the RBR50 which is in my office, originally we had only one RBS50 satellite located downstairs.  Since he was having connectivity issues I purchased a second RBS50 satellite and located it between my office and his room.  It seemed to work fine for a while until he started complaining about intermittant connectivity.  I would check my connection and had no issue so I thought he may have had an issue with his setup.  This has been going on since January.  Fast forward to this week, I finally logged a ticket with Gearhead support and noticed that the speed on the second satellite was fluctuating between 5GHz and 2.4GHz and also intermittently drops.  Gearhead support changed the channels for the wifi from Auto to specific channels which I thought helped, but low and behold, the connectivity issue recurred.  I finally swapped the location of the original satellite I had (which was not giving us any problem) with the newer one and the connectivity seems to be better.  I will continue to monitor, but has anyone ever come across a like issue before or can provide clarity of why swapping the satellites rectified the issue assuming that this resolved the issue (knock on wood)?

Thanks for your feedback

Sometimes you could tell it is probably got disconnect from the router from the colour ring but sometimes it just not connecting to the Internet. At all time devices connecting directly to the router work just fine. So should be the satellite issue.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
