RBR50 / RBK50 speed issues
So I bought an Orbi RBR50 (says RBR50 in the app, but RBK50 is written on the box) router and satellite about 3-4 months ago. Got it going with the satellite, wifi all over the house, but the speed has always been a little questionable. Only ever getting about 100ish mb over the wifi.
I called my supplier, and did a wired speed test with my PC and the stock router. Managed to get 1000mb on fast.com
So, having setup my orbi again, and logged into my router settings, I've turned wifi off on the 2.4 and 5ghz channel. Re-ran my test, and still only getting 140mb on fast.com
I've disabled 20/40 MHz Coexistence, and daisy-chain Topology. When I run the speed test in the orbi app, or in the orbi router page, it gives me speeds of 700+ mb. So I feel like the router is definitely getting the speed, but just not giving it to my devices, even when there's only the single PC connected to it, over a wired connection!
I'm actually bamboozled and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, but just wanted to check if anyone else has had this issue before? Maybe there's something I'm not doing, or that I should try. Have to pay for orbi support because its now expired, will give it a go if i'm still stuck

Re: RBR50 / RBK50 speed issues
Did you test the speed with multiple devices ?
What are they ?
For exemple, my Pixel 2 XL is buggy with orbi (slow and unreliable speed), but any other device give me full speed.

Re: RBR50 / RBK50 speed issues
What firmware is on the router? And on the satellites?
What modem/gateway is it connected to?
Have you tried a factory reset and reinstall? Make sure to leave: access control, traffic monitoring, parental controls, qos, all disabled during the reinstall.
Are you testing hardwired into the router?

Re: RBR50 / RBK50 speed issues
I've tested with my phone (OP5) the brothers phone (OP7) over wifi, and always get around 100ish mb. Maybe slightly more but not by muc
My mum's laptop is a little old, so it only gets 100mb over the wired connection at best...
I've tested it with my brand new PC (built on 21/08), and got 1000mb on the original router I got from my ISP. It's the only device in the house really capable of getting a wired connection speed that high, but considering I got a good speed with the stock router, I'm sure it should at least be getting speeds higher than 500mb from the Orbi router when plugged in. It also has wifi 6, so the wifi test should be giving me more than the 100mb i'm getting.
I feel like the router is throttling my devices, not letting any single device take up too much bandwith. But I thought disabling wifi and all other devices other than the PC would let it use up the full bandwith on its own

Re: RBR50 / RBK50 speed issues
So both the router and sattleite are on V2.5.1.16
I left the gateway IP address just be setup automatically by the device, haven't tried changing it to anything in particular.
I haven't factory reset, no, but I did have to setup it up again after plugging out my ISP stock router.
I've tested both wireless and wired connection into the modem, doesn't seem to make a difference. Only ever really getting 150mb download
I think I will have to try a factory reset and setup my router and sattleite again
P.S. Probably a dumb question, but what's qos?

Re: RBR50 / RBK50 speed issues
A couple things.
1. QoS: quality of service. basically bandwidth managment
2. You put in one of the prior statements that "it has wifi 6". The RBR50 series doesn't. The RBR850/750 is wifi 6. But not the original orbis. Just to clarify, which do you have?
3. What modem/gateway are you connecting the orbi to? Thats kind of key as if its a combo device, it could have its own qos/settings causing issues.

Re: RBR50 / RBK50 speed issues
I or someone else may have asked, but admittedly too lazy to read back, LOL.
Is your network cable connected to the Orbi router at least Cat5e (NOT cat5)?
