RBR50 not responding

Hi, I have an RBR50 that is not responding to any packets that are addressed to it, so I cannot reach the local GUI or via the app. Initially I thought that the RBR50 was not forwarding any packets, however I can do a trace route through the RBR50 and after changing the DNS setting on devices on the Orbi WLAN to a DNS server beyond the RBR50 I have no problem reaching the internet.
I thought the quickest way to resolve this would be to do a factory reset, as manually configuring all the DNS entries on the connected devices are painful. So I have tried numerous times to do a factory reset of the RBR50 and all have still resulted in the RBR50 not responding to any packets sent to it. I can reset the RBR50 and get the factory provisioned SSID to broadcast, however the RBR50 does not respond. I also see that it broadcasts the SSID I configured as well as the factory defined SSID which seems to be strange after a factory reset. I have also factory reset the satellite Orbi and now I cannot get it resynced as I cannot reach the RBR50.
I have also tried to tftp the latest firmware onto the RBR50. I transferred the file without any problem, but the RBR50 still remains unreachable even after this.
The Orbi has been working in router mode connected to fiber enabled home router from our provider for 2 years without any problems.
If anyone has any suggestions on to really remove any traces of configuration and really factory reset the RBR50 or any other suggestions to resolve this situation I’d be happy to hear them.
Thanks

I have done Factory Resets numerous times, and every time the router broadcasts only the SSID defined on the product label.

Did you physically observe the power LED turn amber and begin to flash?

What is the make and model of ISP modem/router to which RBR50 is connected please?

Re: RBR50 not responding

Actually managed to get the RBR50 reset and there are two parts to fixing it. The first and main fix was that I reset the internet provider home router which the RBR50 was attached to. After which I reset the Orbi again and it was then discoverable via the app and http GUI on its factory defined SSID, so something in the provider router was causing the Orbi to not respond to any traffic destined for it, but a simple reboot of the provider router removed whatever problem that was.

Reset to factory config and reinstall worked fine after this.

The second problem was that the SSID that I had configured was still being broadcast. I was sure I had reset the satellite, however it appears I hadn't. So I factory reset the satellite and then added to the RBR50 via the app without any problem.

Everything working great again.

Thanks

Can it be that the "internet provider home router" that you are using is a router (not just a modem)? In this case you will continue to see such strange issues in the future. Please make sure to remove all router functionality in the ISP router or set Orbi to AP mode if you want to avoid such strange issues in the future.
