Where can I plug in an Orbi?
I have another range extender product, where the user's manual says that it cannot be plugged into an extension cord or surge protector, but rather must be plugged directly into a wall outlet. Can the Orbi be plugged into extensions/surge protectors?

If you were to identify your "another range extender product", and/or
provide a link to its "the user's manual", then some non-psychic in your
audience might be able to explain that restriction, without resorting to
guesswork.

I'd assume so, unless there's some similar restriction in the User
Manual for your (unspecified) "the Orbi".

Which "the Orbi" is your "the Orbi"?

Re: Where can I plug in an Orbi?
Yes, the Orbi router and satellite units can be plugged into a power strip with surge protector, UPS, etc. Restrictions on where you can plug in for power are for devices that use the power lines for the network...like powerline networking adapters. The Orbi doesn't use the powerlines for its networking, so you can plug its units into pretty much any standard power source.

Re: Where can I plug in an Orbi?
Aha! I sort of suspected that. I have already downloaded and read the Orbi's owner's manual, and it didn't say anything about restrictions on where it can be plugged in. Your answer makes perfect sense; thanks.
