Yes another RBR50V2 dropping connection

I have a RBR50V2 with firmware V2.7.2.104 connected to Optimum internet Arris Modem Touchstone CM8200. Warranty swapped my router with NETGEAR & warranty swapped the modem with the ISP. Tried the telnet fix as described in other posts but when I enter the commands for root my windows 10 does not recognize the command root. Any one know what I might be doing wrong at the telnet prompt? Thank you

Check your telnet app mfr for help and support for there app.

Re: Yes another RBR50V2 dropping connection

Thank you. I enabled telnet in the router debug login and setup telnet on my windows 10 laptop as admin but none of those commands work in telnet.  Am I missing something?  Thank you again
