How to disable uPNP/SSDP on switch M4300

Hello,

We have some Netgear M4300 switches and we see that those switches are generating uPnP/SSDP packets (UDP port 1900) and sending it over broatcast. We do not need this feature at all.

Does someone knows how to disable this feature?

Thanks!

Boblik

Hello Boblik

And welcome to the NETGEAR Community! 🙂

It looks like there is no documentation on how to disable UPnP and SSDP on GUI, but you can disable only Bonjour on page 20 - 21 from the link below.

Re: How to disable uPNP/SSDP on switch M4300

Hello Erwin,

Thank you so much for your response!

I've already tested it by disabling the Bonjour via CLI (no bonjour run) but it didn't stop the switch sending multicast packets on the multicast IP address:239.255.255.250 UDP port 1900.

I've also tested it by configuring an access list that's deny UDP traffic to multicast IP address 239.255.255.250 and implemented the access list on the control plane of the switch. When I checked the access list, I saw that there are matches and the packet number that are hitting the access list continue to increase but I still see UDP packets coming from the switch (management IP).

Do you have any other idea how to stop the switch sending multicast UDP packets to IP address 239.255.255.250 port 1900?

p.s. We are running the latest firmware version.

Thanks!

Boblik
