Setup of SFP port
Hi,
I am trying to connect a 1g SFP module on ports 49-52 with another switch B ( not netgear)
The cable I am using is FS DAC 40G (QSFP)-> 4x10G.(SFP)
I know that GS348T support only 1G so I setup 1 G on Switch B, and it shows link up, however Netgear shows link down.
Any clue what could be the problems?
Thanks

Re: Setup of SFP port
Essential correction: QSFP+ to 4x10G SFP+ Passive Direct Attach Copper Breakout Cable.
It's SFP+, not SFP. SFP+ is not equal to SFP, even if the physical dimensions are the same.
Similar, you can't use a SFP+ DAC to connect two switches with 1G SFP ports each - for this very same reason.
Just to clarify: You can run an SFP+ port on 1G under some conditions (typical example is plussign an SFP module) - but it's still an SFP+. However, you can't run an SFP+ module in a 1G SFP plort.
