Slow Internet Speed Through Netgear Switch (GS728TP)(V2)

Hello everyone,

 

  The problem I am have is slow internet speed through a new Netgear Switch (GS728TP)(V2). The setup I have is xfinity internet to a Netgear Nighthawk Modem (Model#CM2050V) to a Qnap Router (Model# QHora-322) to A Netgear Switch (GS728TP)(V2). I Get about 1,252Mbps Downlad speed & about 33.82Mbps Upload Speed from xfinity. If I plug my laptop into the Qnap Router I get the same speeds. But when I plug in to the Netgear Switch the speed drops down to 522.97Mbps Downlad speed & about 42.05Mbps Upload Speed. I tried difference patch cable (CAT-5 & Cat-6). But I always get the same results. When I Log into the router the port says the speed going out is 1G and when I Log into the switch it say the port is getting 1G. Any ideas would help.  Thanks

Any chance you have factory reset the 728 switch and setup from scratch and do not enable any features on the switch. Go basic only configuration. Maybe disable any QoS or monitoring or speed limiting features if available after the reset.

I tried factory reset and I had no luck.

Can you check the router if there is any QoS settings that limits the speed on the port?

The QoS settings are turn off

Hello @WhoMe08721,

 

I noticed that the servers used during speed tests are different. Can you try again using same servers and with no other devices, only the switch and your laptop, are connected? Also, try to connect to different port on the router.
