5.3.5-T19 - TiVo disappearing from ReadyDLNA List

I added my TiVo and everything appeared to be working. After restarting the READYNas my TiVo is no longer showing under ReadyDLNA nor do I see an option to add TiVo(s). I haven't archived any files yet however if I go to my TiVo the READYNas shows up fine... with no videos.

I have ReadyDLNA enabled along with Auto Scan and TiVo Server.

Update: It's transferring files fine as I just tested (the .tivo and .nfo were created). So I'm guessing everything is working fine outside of the fact I can't access the TiVo settings via the ReadyDLNA. Also, once transferred so far it hasn't shown up on TiVo... the READYNas lists no Videos. Perhaps since I changed the path where the files are stored might come into play.

Re: 5.3.5-T19 - TiVo disappearing from ReadyDLNA List

I'll try shortly. Overnight I transferred another show which went fine. However both still aren't listed on the TiVo. All I see is...

All Video (0)
Folders (1)
- Videos (1)
-- Movies (0)

I reinstalled the beta firmware (T19) and did a reinstall OS. Right now I can see the TiVo on the READYNAS under ReadyNAS DLNA Settings.

As a side issue Photo II appears to be messed up. Without using it pre-beta I'm certainly not an expert about Add-ons. However I never have an option to remove it (it's always gray) and if I stop it it stops fine (the first time). If I try to restart it appears to freeze regardless if I reboot, etc.

Re: 5.3.5-T19 - TiVo disappearing from ReadyDLNA List

After updating to T28 I can still see TiVo via ReadyDLNA however I still can't see my two shows on the TiVO. I still have the structure listed as above...

Update: Just noticed that my TiVo has disappeared from the ReadyDLNA window. It shows - No TiVos. I can still view Group (Videos on READYNasOne: Ready...) on the TiVo although it remains empty.

Re: 5.3.5-T19 - TiVo disappearing from ReadyDLNA List

I still have had zero luck having my TiVo list the two shows I have archived to the NV+ v2. All it displays is All Video (0) and Folders (0). Right now under Services it won't even let me click on ReadyDLNA so I can check how it's configured. I'm guessing it's still archiving but I have never been able to see any of the content being displayed by TiVo.

I'm archiving to: c:\media\office (with Office being the name of my TiVo).

Re: 5.3.5-T19 - TiVo disappearing from ReadyDLNA List

With T33 I see no difference... under ReadyDLNA my TiVo comes and goes... and shows that have been (previously) archived don't show on the TiVo. So far I can't get it to even archive additional shows.

Re: 5.3.5-T19 - TiVo disappearing from ReadyDLNA List

Just wondering do I need to have ReadyDLNA Services turned on at the Share level where the TiVo files are archived? Or having ReadyDLNA enabled under System - Services - ReadyDLNA by itself enough? I have tried it both ways without any archiving files showing up on the TiVo.

Re: 5.3.5-T19 - TiVo disappearing from ReadyDLNA List

You definitely need to have ReadyDLNA enabled on the destination share. The TiVo archiver and ReadyDLNA are two separate but related services -- ReadyDLNA access is required to share the video content back with the TiVo after it's been downloaded.

Re: 5.3.5-T19 - TiVo disappearing from ReadyDLNA List

I understand they are separate services. One transfers the TiVo files to the NAS and the other serves them back to the TiVo. However under System - Services - ReadyDLNA Settings there is an option to Enable ReadyDLNA. I'm guessing that it turns on ReadyDLNA since it shows the archive path without going to the Dashboard - Share menu and activating ReadyDLNA for the archiving location.

Either way I have had zero lucky getting TiVo to show any of the files I have in the archive directories and under ReadyDLNA Settings my TiVo comes and goes. Since T33 I haven't been able to get any archiving to work.

Re: 5.3.5-T19 - TiVo disappearing from ReadyDLNA List

I ran across this add-on and it installed fine. At least that's what the log file says...

Successfully enabled ReadyDLNA debug logging

Now when I view Available or Installed Add-on it's not listed so I'm wondering how I would ever uninstall it? Also, when I download/view the logs I see nothing named DLNA... so I'm wondering if it's actually active.

Is ReadyDLNA (with TiVO) supported by Netgear or has it only been included in the new Beta? I'm wondering if I can get any support on the issue...

All Toggle Add-ons are uninstalled by re-installing them.

The DLNA log is upnp-av.log

Do you see a readytivo.log in the log files?

Not sure. I think the TiVo archiving is a new feature. Skywalker is a ReadyDLNA expert. If you can't find any clues in the logs perhaps he'll request your logs.

Thanks!

The DLNA log is upnp-av.log

Just found that and I'll dig through the tivo entries... so far I see it found my TiVo (192.168.2.11).

Do you see a readytivo.log in the log files?

Haven't found this file yet... I'll keep looking. I'm rebooting both and I'll play some more.

Re: 5.3.5-T19 - TiVo disappearing from ReadyDLNA List

It looks like readytivo.log hasn't been added to the .zip file yet, but I'll try to get that added to the next build. That should help quite a bit in figuring out what's going on here.

Re: 5.3.5-T19 - TiVo disappearing from ReadyDLNA List

I think I know the reason for some or most of my issues. I have copied archived files from one NV+ v2 to another, changed the archive location, and even dropped one NV+ v2 disk into another NV+ v2. In genreal I think I have completely messed up the tivo database. 🙂 Now I have archiving working again but it's not archiving into the directory (share) listed under ReadyDLNA which is set to c:\media. Rather it's using c:\media\TiVo. Of which I saw several others having the same issue with an older version.

Also, I'm still not able to see any of the archived files on my TiVo. Which again I'm guessing is because of the messed up database. Is there anyway to blow away the existing database and start fresh?

Re: 5.3.5-T19 - TiVo disappearing from ReadyDLNA List

I can see why that would happen. I'll file a bug and try to get it fixed for next build.

Re: 5.3.5-T19 - TiVo disappearing from ReadyDLNA List

For background I have a completely new installation (swapped drives and did a Factory Reset) and then upgraded to T41.

After installing T41 my TiVo shows up and so far hasn't disappeared under ReadyDLNA. Also, for the first time my c:\media share is showing up in my TiVo. Only remaining issue is the NV+ v2 isn't archiving. I updated a recording to Keep Until I Delete and scheduled a archive. Nothing... I'll try giving the scheduler a little more time and a reboot or two. I haven't any real time to play but it's heading in the right direction.

Re: 5.3.5-T19 - TiVo disappearing from ReadyDLNA List

The problem with the recordings not being shared back to the TiVo is because there is no way to force a ReadyDLNA rescan in the current release. This will be resolved in the next build. There are also some issues with the TiVo archiver being inadvertently killed by the management system. This may be what you're seeing now. This should also be resolved next build. We will also be including the TiVo log file, so we should be able to get a better idea what is going on if you are still experiencing problems.

Re: 5.3.5-T19 - TiVo disappearing from ReadyDLNA List

I think the non-archiving was user error. I just noticed when I did my re-install the NV+ v2's time was off... it was fast. So when I scheduled archiving to start in ten minutes it had already past. I have archiving set to c:\media and it dumped it into c:\media\TiVo\Office\Extra. Office is my TiVo's name and Extra is a only a couple of minutes I recorded for a test.

Based on your post...

- ReadyDLNA is only indexing the directories once (first time running?).
- Messing around with Dashboard might kill off the archiving process (I'm certainly guilty of that).

Looking forward to the next release... especially now that I have my other non-related issue resolved.

Update: Just checked and Extra is now showing up on the TiVo and playing... getting somewhere!

If ReadyDLNA is enabled on the share when new files are added, they should be indexed automatically. But if you enable DLNA later, or something happens to the database, there is no way to rescan because the rescan icon in the GUI doesn't actually work. So next release will fix the rescan button, and should also force a reindex when you enable DLNA on a share.
