Firmware update issue *solved*
Hello
I´m currently at 6.0.8 on my RN102 and trying to upgrade to latest Beta release.
Here´s what I do:
Download latest beta *.img
Go to settings in frontwiev, click on "update firmware" and upload the *.img.
After that nothing happens except that firmwareversion in "System overwiev" disappears.
Reboot only gets it back to 6.0.8 again...
Maybe I can´t go directly from 6.0.8 to RC13?

Re: Firmware update issue
Perhaps try the update again using a different browser. Also double check to make sure you are using the arm firmware image.

Re: Firmware update issue
Now I´ve tried 3 different browsers and also 2 different versions of IE, no luck.
And now when 8.1.6 is official I hoped it would work through "autoupdate".
But no... The "Downloading Firmware" window comes on for a few sec then disappears.
Everything else on the NAS works fine.. (what I know at least)
Any ideas?

Re: Firmware update issue
Is the NAS IP in the trusted sites list of IE and is the security certificate installed. I recently saw another user with a similar problem - he needed to fix the IP address registered in https settings, regenerate and install the correct certificate then the upgrade worked. I don't think yours is the same issue, just checking that browser security is not the problem.

Re: Firmware update issue
Maybe try compatibility mode in IE?
Or just enter a support ticket with Netgear (phone support if you purchased within the last 90 days, otherwise use support.netgear.com).

Re: Firmware update issue
Isnt this the same issue I saw, as described here?

FWIW, MDGM's SSH command line fix for me worked.

Re: Firmware update issue
Thanks for all great tips
The update through ReadyCloud worked 😄
Strange but true... earlier updates have worked the "regluar" way... but not this one.
So now next issue... or question..
Do I need a Factory reset?
If I got it right I will only get a little better performance...? And not much on RN102 anyway.?
What´s your opinon?

Re: Firmware update issue *solved*
Im having a similar problem going from 6.1.7 to 6.1.8. The update button opens and disappears, and the manual install file says it can not be unzipped.
Trying via ready cloud. (Worked!)
