ReadyCloud can’t access behind WatchGuard Firewall via web portal

Dear all,

I have placed my ReadyNas 528X behind the Watchguard T55 firewall and I can access the READYNAS on the local LAN but when attempting to sign in via web portal being outside of the LAN on another network I am getting "NetGearReadyNAS is offline. Check power and Internet connectivity"  Has anyone experianced anything similar? What setting to change on the firewall ?

The ReadyNAS is working fine, it is on line , when accessing it from the LAN it works fine. I would appreciate any suggestions how to solve this problem!

Do you mean ReadyCloud?  Perhaps your firewall is blocking the port it uses for the VPN tunnel (by default it is 6300).

Dear Stephen,

Thanks for your kind and fast reply!

This is the reply i received from WATCHGUARD support:

" While we don't have any past cases about this NAS model, troubleshooting this is something that depends on how the NAS is accessed from outside. Does it initiate a connection outbound to a cloud-hosted platform that you are supposed to access from outside? Are you attempting to access the public IP of the T55 directly, therefore needing a NAT policy on the Firebox? Do you already have a policy in place that allows this sort of access from outside? You mentioned that you are logging in to a web portal. What is the IP or FQDN that you use to reach that portal?

I'll wait to hear back from you on these questions. Have a nice day!

"

My ReadyNAS is behind the watchguard router / firewall.... Do you know the answers to their question?

I don't know the IP address or FQDN of the ReadyCloud backend.  I do know the default port is 6300.  So you could create a firewall rule that allows that port to reach the NAS in both directions.
