ReadyCloud web app unable to load a directory with many folders #26851173

Hopefully someone has a fix for this pretty annoying issue:

I, like many of you, use my NAS to keep a lot of my media accessible across my home network and when away from home. I have a very substantial music library which is currently stored on the NAS and obviously there are a TON of folders (artists) in this directory. When accessing this Music folder via the web app, the ReadyCloud site is unable to load / display all of those folders. Instead it slowly fills up the progress bar as if it is going to load all those folders, and when it gets to 100% it just stays at the higher level directory "Music". This issue is not experienced in the Android app however, just in the browser. Has anyone found a fix for this? It would appear there is a limit to the number of folders the web portal can load, and it seems to time out.

NAS Firmware: 6.4.2 (happend on 6.4.1 too)

Web App OS: Windows 7 / 10

Web Browser: Chrome

Model: RN102|ReadyNAS 100 Series

Case No. 26851173

Will try disabling add-on's and protocols to troubleshoot. AV is already off.

Hi bearle01,

Welcome to the community!

Is the Google Chrome browser up to date? Have you tried using Mozilla Firefox? Perhaps use a different PC to isolate this problem more.

This is interesting as I have the reverse issue, I can access my <media> folder on my computer and on the web portal but not in the app, all of the other folders are accessable on the app, just not the media folder, it keeps asking for user and password, which I enter, then it says 'access denied' and goes back to the log in screen. Permissions for that folder is set the same as the others. My media streamer (custom chromebox) also has no problem assessing the media folder.

Hello vtxrider,

Can you post a screenshot of the media folder permission in the admin page?

Hi vtxrider,

Aside from posting a screenshot (as suggested by JennC), you may also reset the permission of the 'Media' share and see if that helps.

Kind regards,

Hi vtxrider,

Were you able to reset the permission of the 'Media' share to see if it fixes your problem?

Kind regards,
