Slow response due to Denied permission to ReadyCloud ?
My system is currently running extremely slow, and after investigating the logfiles on my MacBook Air running the latest versions of OSX, I see something strange ;
23.04.13 00:11:45,490 ReportCrash[10730]: Saved crash report for ReadyCloudAgent[10731] version ??? to /Users/eier2/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ReadyCloudAgent_2013-04-23-001145_Torsteins-MacBook-Air.crash

23.04.13 00:11:55,500 com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[236]: (com.netgear.readycloud) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
I get these log errors about every 10 seconds ! I have a ReadyNAS Ultra 4 as a media storage device ( not for TimeMachine ). What can I do to shut the ReadyCloud thing OFF ??? I cannot remember having switched something like that on either.... RAIDar does not reveal any ReadyCloud settings that I can see...or am I missing something ?
Hope to get some help out there 🙂
UPDATE : ...and yes, I have enabled ReadyNAS Remote for iPhone. It didn´t work until recently, after the latest update on AppStore only a few days ago. Maybe this Remote application is opening up something from the ReadyNAS Cloud ? I do not have a Cloud account though.... Shouldn´t work for Ultra 4´s...

Re: Slow response due to Denied permission to ReadyCloud ?
They don't appear to differentiate what features work on what platform. Even Duo v1 (Sparc) users would see a useless ReadyDrop tab in their client.
On the new ReadyNASOS 6.0 systems, ReadyCloud is always running and phoned home to netgear.com even if not enabled.

Re: Slow response due to Denied permission to ReadyCloud ?
Thanks for a speedy reply Chirpa. So does this mean I have to turn off ReadyNAS Remote to get rid of the system log error messages towards ReadyCloud ? ..... Or would it help if I created a ReadyCloud account just so it doesn´t get access denied ?

Re: Slow response due to Denied permission to ReadyCloud ?
I am not sure, NTGR has not made it clear how the services all interact with each other, what is a dependency to what... Remote looks to be a core dependency of all other new stuff (Replicate,ReadyCloud,ReadyShare,ReadyDrop).

Re: Slow response due to Denied permission to ReadyCloud ?
I'm having same issue on MacMini running OS X 10.8.3. Have a Ultra 2 running most current firmware. I'll try removing readynas remote. Did you open a support case with Netgear?

Re: Slow response due to Denied permission to ReadyCloud ?
Ah, ok so that makes two of us at least ! I am sure there are lots of others - oblivious to what causes theirs Macs to slow down. There should be a law against this type of problem 🙂
Well, I have tried to open a case on http://support.netgear.com/general/contact/default.aspx, but I get "Processing your request" message briefly and then no confirmation that they received anything at all, so I have no idea actually.

Re: Slow response due to Denied permission to ReadyCloud ?
ReadyNAS Remote is the agent that give you remote access to your NAS, you do not need to use ReadyCLOUD. However, the Remote app has built in support that offers readycloud users some advanced features. It looks like this agent is looking for a library that is not on you system. I will have our Mac developer follow up.

I'm having a similar issue (ReadyCloudAgent constantly starting and failing) on my MacBook Pro, and am using the latest build for the Mac OS Mountain Lion on your download page (1.2.11). Is there some other update I've missed?
