Share /var/log
Hi,
I would like to share the /var/log directory with the SMB protocol.
To do so, I added the following lines in the /etc/frontview/samba/Shares.conf :
[logs] path = /var/log comment = "/var/log" oplocks = 1 admin users = "admin","Administrator" writeable = 1
Unfortunately, on every boot I do get an email with the following content :
Missing shares detected (teddynas) The paths for the shares listed below could not be found. Typically, this occurs when the ReadyNAS is unable to access the data volume. logs
Even with this warning, the share is working fine after login...
I would like to avoid having this email warning me although the share works...
I'm running RAIDiator 4.2.31, any help is welcome to solve this issue.

Re: Share /var/log
Why do you want to share this directory?
What you're trying to do is not supported.

Re: Share /var/log
Yes indeed, so many things are unsupported...
I'm using my NAS as a remote syslog for my different devices, so accessing those logs is easier for me this way.

Re: Share /var/log
You could try creating a logs share on the C volume, and then replace the folder on the data volume with a symlink to /var/log
