[req] Subsonic

http://www.subsonic.org/pages/index.jsp

appears to be GPL/open source, music streamer.. similar/same as orb but looks much more flexible and open.

assuming its possible, would love to see this available for x86 devices to stream directly from nas

Re: [req] Subsonic

S-P - is java included in this version, or will that be a separate addon?

Re: [req] Subsonic

installed 1.1 with java, but it keeps saying no music folders found.

the music path looks right and there is audio there, so not sure whats going on.

edit: never mind, looks like path was wrong case, damn linux case-sensitivity

Re: [req] Subsonic

Hah it was working great but I'm guessing the search indexer ran out of memory since now I can't access it (and I'm not at home to check).

I'm nearing 200k tracks, so I'll have to figure out how much to allocate. I wish it managed its memory dynamically, but I think its a java problem more than app.

Re: [req] Subsonic

/c/webroot/subsonic

Memory size is set at startup so check subsonic.sh (I think)

Re: [req] Subsonic

got it thanks!

this thing is so much better than orb, at least for audio, and the android client is slick (and free)

Re: [req] Subsonic

Anyone noticed Subsonic crashing without notice? And not seeming to be related to memory?

Last couple of times I've gone back to it, it has crashed. No info in the logs at all.

Re: [req] Subsonic

yea I've had it crash a few times, I thought it was memory but perhaps its not.

I see alot of errors when downloading art too.

Re: [req] Subsonic

I've up'ed the memory just in case - let's see but i believe we should see something in the log if it's then known issue

Re cover art - looks like that broke very recently, due to the site subsonic scrapes from making changes. Apparently has affected XBMC too

Re: [req] Subsonic

yea mines down since i got to work, made me mad... I had changed search update to every 3 days, so I don't think that was it.

Also updated max memory to 600 but doesn't seem to have helped.

going to disable the download art thing and see if its more stable.

Re: [req] Subsonic

it seemed to crash even with download art disabled, so not sure whats up, I haven't had time to sift through the log

while its running, it works great tho.

might not be the only ones having it crash

Re: [req] Subsonic

Ummm... It may be memory related.

I up'ed the memory allocation on my setup. My library is not so big - around 5K tracks (25GB) - but SubSonic has not crashed since.

But if this is the issue, then there is still an issue as SubSonic seems to be very memory hungry...
