Failing to complete 'copy' operation
Evening all,
I've had an issue pop up recently and I've been unable to fix it and has me stumped. The copying of files from one directory on the share to another almost always fails, and the stage at which it fails varies. For example, the copying of a 12GB file from one directory to another will 'drop short' and will finish anywhere between 6 and 10GB.
This issue only rears its head however when connecting via AFP, connecting via SMB and it copies without problem. I've tried connecting the ReadNAS directly to my Macbook Pro to eliminate any problems with the router etc, and the issue still occurs. I've also upgrade one of my machines from Mac OS X 10.6.8 to 10.7 and the issue persists.
Any thoughts as to what may be the issue? I realise it works when connecting via SMB, however I'd much prefer to use AFP if possible. I'm using a ReadyNAS Pro w/ RAIDiator 4.2.19.
Regards,
Brett.

- I recommend that you use the frontview backup job in transferring files.
- monochromicAspirantthanks for the tip arjoseph, but these tranfers are more 'one-offs' as opposed to regular transfers. i'm putting this down to a problem with AFP and the latest ReadyNAS 4.2.19 firmware? can anyone confirm this?
- Try to perform an OS re-install. Please follow the steps from the link below:
