C7000 v2
I had to do a reset and lost my chosen modem name and password. Would like to reset back to my original setings vs the generic Netgear name and password? How to do this?

You might try this radical concept which works for some people:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RTFM
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read. Look for
"Types of Logins" and "Specify Basic WiFi Settings". Further reading
might not hurt, either.

Been there done that, looking for serious answers not criticism.

Apparently not, or you might not be using technical terms of your own
invention, like "modem name". I'm guessing that you mean a
wireless-network SSID, but that's only a guess.

Do you think that the manual is a joke-book, or do you need someone
to read the manual to you, or what?

Been where? Done what?
Which bit of the manual did you look at? Did you get as far as "Specify Basic WiFi Settings".
It really is that simple.
For more detailed advice on bits you don't understand, visit the right bit of this community.
You have posted your message in the section of this community given over to General WiFi Routers (Non-Nighthawk). (This is easily done, given Netgear's complicated community structure.)
Many questions apply to different types of device, so there may be useful responses here, after all wifi settings are common to just about everything that Netgear makes, but you might get even more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
