I had time-warner install a cable modem and bought an AC1700-6400 wireless router. The tw tech could not get the wifi to work but was in a hurry so told me to call support. I asked him if I could have two wireless connections at the same time, he said yes. I have not shut down my ATT Uverse because it is connected with wireless to my TVs and Rokus. The account is good until 15 Feb. I was going to use the same name and password as my old wireless connection so that I wouldn't have to change everything in the house thats wireless. Is the Time-Warner man correct that I can have two wireless connections in the same house? I am using one computer for the wired network that is connected to TW. It does not make any sense to me. I figured I would have to shut down my ATT Uverse and wireless connection before the Netgear router will make a wireless network. Am I correct?

You cannot run a single seamless wireless network with two different ISPs unless you use a dual-WAN-capable router or load balancer. With your current equipment you can run two separate wireless networks. Switching between will not be seamless.

Re: Can you have two wireless networks if you have two modems but only one computer?
There are load balance devices that allows two or more modems to serve as one lan to your router or computer D-Link makes one has a review showing it work. The person reviewing says that you can control the setting on the device too. There a link on one of the posting share part of the community with a link to the youtube video. Netgear needs to come out with one if they have one now. Sorry can not remember which posting it was in but a web should find it.

Re: Can you have two wireless networks if you have two modems but only one computer?
Thanks for your help. I can't seem to get anyone that I have spent money with to give me the correct answer. Very frustrating.
