Extender doesn't work with Router after installing VPN
The WiFi range extender stopped detecting the router after I installed VPN on my ASUS RT-AC68U router.
The pc uses Windows 10 and the devices attempting to receive the extended signal are Apple and Samsung. The devices detect the the signal from the router but not the extender. The extender is a EX6130 but EX6120 appears to be the closest one on the list.
Since the signal is carried through the internal wiring in the house from the modem (which is connected to the router) I don't understand how the installation of the VPN can affect it as the signal to the extender doesn't arrive via the router.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Re: Extender doesn't work with Router after installing VPN
what are the led's on the extender doing? color/blinking/solid/etc
What firmware is on the extender?
Did you reinstall the extender after putting the vpn on the router?
How did you install it? using wps or using the installation wizard?
Was the vpn using the stock asus firmware or using 3rd party firmware?

Re: Extender doesn't work with Router after installing VPN
The extender' led for power and WPS/Mode are solid and green
The Router and Device lights are off.
I have not reinstalled the Extender. When I attempted to get to the Netgear page after typing xxxxxx and then selecting xxx to log into the extender, I received a message on a new tab "This site cannot be reached". Where xxxxx is the login URL.
I had to reset the router back to factory settings to get the VPN installed.
I can't remember how I installed the extender, except to say that once the cable was connected from the router to the plug socket it seemed to work pretty well.

Re: Extender doesn't work with Router after installing VPN
Factory reset the extender and install it using the installation assistant.
Push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while its powered on.
then follow the installation assistant guide.

Re: Extender doesn't work with Router after installing VPN
Hello, just to follow up on my previous reply.
I turned off the VPN and I still could not log into the Extender. The additional message after "This site cannot be reached" is mywifiext’s "server IP address could not be found"

Re: Extender doesn't work with Router after installing VPN
were you connected to the extender?
If the device light is off and the router light is off then the extender isn't connected to the router and no devices are connected to the extender.
