Netgear R6220's 5 Ghz network not being detected on D'link DWA-171 Wireless AC USB adapter

I am currently using D'link DWA 171 AC wireless adapter for my laptop running on Windows 10.

The adapter is not detecting the 5 Ghz network transmitted  by the Netgear router and i can access only 2.4 Ghz network.

Is there some seerings that has to be changer to be able to connect to the 5 Ghz network?

1. Maximum wireless signal rate derived from draft IEEE 802.11ac specification and IEEE Standard 802.11n specification. D-Link makes no warranties as to forward compatibility with future standards or compatibility with draft 802.11ac devices from other manufacturers. Actual data throughput will vary. Network conditions and environmental factors, including volume of network traffic, building materials and construction, and network overhead, lower actual data throughput rate. Environmental factors may adversely affect wireless signal range. Up to 433 Mbps wireless speeds achieved when connecting to other 802.11ac devices.

2. Using a USB 1.1 port will affect device performance. USB 2.0 port recommended.

Re: Netgear R6220's 5 Ghz network not being detected on D'link DWA-171 Wireless AC USB adapter

Hi @msholla87,

1. What is the firmware version of the router?

2. Do you have other wireless devices (smartphone, tablet, laptop) that can detect the 5GHz band?

3. Please try changing the wireless channel of the 5GHz band.

Regards,
