No. Nothing to install.
TFTP is built into Windows. You just have to enable it.
This article explains how to go about it.

It looks like others in the thread indicated that a factory reset may due it but I don't have a back-up of the settings.
Unfortunately, that is sometimes the only option.

Thank you. I'd forgotten that it is a windows feature though I was thinking about checking on it. Thanks for the link. That will be helpful. Probably won't try it until next week but will post a follow up as to the outcome.

I can confirm that the Nighthawk app can indeed access my router presumably using the 5000/5555 ports, however you can only update to the current firmware from Netgear's online update site. No option for downgrading or manual installation. You also cannot access any setting to modify them - or at least not using my IOS or Android apps.

Investigate the use of TFTP.

This also explains how to enable TFTP on a Windows PC.
TFTP isn't the easiest operation, timing is important, as are the exact details for the commands and prompts you see. It can take several attempts. So if you are forced to use TFTP try a web search for videos that guide you through the process.
For example:
Different device, but the approach is the same.
