i do not need a password, and would like whomever arrives out here, in the literal middle of nowhere, to be able to just connect, whithout me having to remember yet another login.
i do no online commerce, dont have credit cards, and rarely even leave the farm...which...i stress...is in the middle of nowhere.
if somebody wants to hack my wifibubble...well good luck getting close enough to not also get shot in the process, lol.
so how do i set the dern thing so i just open my laptop and there the internet is?

Congratulations on trying to set up a password-free access for casual visitors. It is annoying to have to grapple with complicated gibberish passwords.
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
Check the section in the manual
Manage the Basic WiFi Settings and WiFi Security of the Guest Network
That might be a better option than completely removing security. Do that and some vandal might be able to get on and do more permanent damage.
You can see the guest SSID to whatever you like. "wildernessbar" might work!
