AntiVirus Memory Usage
How much RAM should a ReadyNAS 214's built in AntiVirus normally use? My observations by monitoring Linux-Dash whilst turning it on and off suggest about 500MB, which seems excessive compared with previously. I am fairly sure that it was not anywhere near that before the recent OS problems that prompted the introduction of the v6.7.x from v6.6.x (I am on v6.7.4 now), though I have not checked it for a while - AntiVirus was disabled due to the /dev/md0 problem.
I currently have installed: DVBLink, Linux-Dash, Kernel-Plus, Logitech Media Server NT and Transmission for Readynas. It was noticing this evening that DVBLink had crashed again and that after restarting it I only had 2% free RAM that prompted this investigation, however after stopping all the apps and AV, then retarting them one at a time I now have 27% free RAM.
So is 500MB RAM usage for AV to be expected?
TIA
Paul

Re: AntiVirus Memory Usage
It is expected,
There is nothing we can do to reduce the ClamAV memory usage for loading the signature database.

Note you shouldn't just look at free RAM. You should consider how much is used for caching (we use available RAM for caching to improve performance and free it up as needed) and whether the swap space is being used.
