Drive upgrade from ReadyNAS DUO to Ultra 2
I had ReadyNAS duo for 3 years now and very happy with it. Just bought another ReadyNAS Ultra 2 and have some questions:
1- Can I copy the configuration on old ReadyNAS Duo and restore it to new Ultra 2? Will it retain all the share files and users?
2- What is the best way to move the drive from old Duo to new Ultra 2?
Thanks

Re: Drive upgrade from ReadyNAS DUO to Ultra 2
There isn't one. In my mind. ultra 2 supports xraid2(and or xraid 1). pretty sure the duo doesn't.
The short answer is stick brand new drives in the ultra 2 and manually migrate the data to the new box or use the ultra2 as a new "respiratory".
running raid 1 and converted to raid 0 is not possible as whenever a raid change occurs the entire raid array must be reformatted ( in my experience).
You could however copy the config, I can't guarantee that setting will be directly supported in ultra 2. (it's also intel structure versus a sparc) so the options/formatting etc may have changed.
Though if you don't believe me, Yoda may be able to confirm
