Email Alert Setup
Hello,
I have two ReadyNAS 1100's. I am trying to get the alert setup configured properly using SMTP. I have copied the settings for two email accounts I use in Outlook to the 1100s, but have had no success. On the SMTP screen in Frontview a mention is made about the hostname of the 1100 possibly having to be of the type "myhost.domain.com instead of myhost ". If my devices are called "ReadyNAS1" and "ReadyNAS2", does anyone know what I should be using? Or am I missing something else about the settings?
Thank you,
Steve

Re: Email Alert Setup
It depends on the mail host you are connecting to - some won't care. Does your mail host require authentication? Checked the port (maybe using something else than port 25)? Have you filled in all the fields?

Re: Email Alert Setup
I have 2 mail hosts, one which requires authentication (uses port 465 and uses SSL), the other does not. All fields are filled in. For the host which doesn't need authenticating, I get a quick "Failed to connect with SMTP server" message. With the other, after hitting the Apply button, I get no response and have to close the Frontview window.
