Apologies if this has been asked/answered elsewhere. I am trying to create a new FTP user account for a friend to only allow access to a specific folder. All my files are stored under "/c/Files" but I only was to give this user access to a subfolder of this share "/c/Files/Videos".
Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so how to accomplish this?
You can not give access to a file/folder to a remote user. You can however create a new share and only allow that user to connect to that share to access the files/folders.
I´ve tried to make this work but without any progress. I modern product as the readynas should have this function, It´s a basic level of networking function.
Oops, my fault. While there actually is an add-on for that for the Sparc platform I just found out that it hasn't been released to the public yet. Sorry.

OK so at the end of all it works. But you can only share one subfolder from one share. What if i need to share a couple of folders from different shares?
