Final 6.2.1 update causing LAN instability/sluggishness
After upgrading to 6.2.1 on an RN314, the network adapters no longer appear in the UI. In general it looks like the network parameters were reset. I can only recover the device by letting my router assign an IP with DHCP. Any ideas on how to get the network adapters in the UI? or even control them from the command line?
thanks

Re: Release notes for 6.2.1
So you can login to the GUI and see all the other tabs (System, Shares, iSCSI, etc) except the Network tab?
Or can you see the network tab but the adapters are not seen when you click on it?
Have you cleared your browser cache ?
If they are really not there then I'd do an OS reinstall ( not a factory default) using the boot menu. The OS reinstall preserves data, resets the admin password and the network settings to dhcp.

Re: Release notes for 6.2.1
I login to the gui and can see the network tab. No adapters show up however. After a reboot the unit is not saving the last IP and displays on the front panel "no IP address". I am also seeing some odd behavior on my network - I think its due to the RN314. I've had to disconnect it for now. ugh.

Re: Release notes for 6.2.1
I did the update on my 312.
Things went very bad: when the device is connected to the network, it seems to flood my router. All traffic over the router breaks down. The router got hung up. Have never seen this behavior, I had to power cycle the router.
OS reinstall did not help.

Re: Release notes for 6.2.1
I'm seeing the same behavior. Everything was fine with RC3. The final 6.2.1 update wreaked havoc on my network. Switching on the 314 kills my router within seconds.
Like rugene, I can't see the network adapter under the "Network" tab, either. Looks like this is not an isolated issue.

rugene, try an OS reinstall.
_frantic_ and nsne, have you got any port forwarding setup on your router to the nas, any apps installed?

Re: Release notes for 6.2.1
I disabled all port forwarding about a month ago when I ran into other issues with the NAS. The only apps I have installed are AV+, Plex, BT Sync and UE Media Server.
Oh, and I just downgraded to RC3. The router sprang back to life and the "eth0" link is back under the Network tab.

nsne, I would try removing all the apps, rebooting, then reinstalling 6.2.1.

Re: Release notes for 6.2.1
@vandermerwe: Thanks for the tip. Not to sound ungrateful, but I don't have several days each month to devote to app/OS installs to troubleshoot my 314.
If RC3 works fine and the final 6.2.1 doesn't, then it seems to me some minor change between the releases is not working the way it was intended for a variety of users, and this should be addressed by the OS devs. For now I'll stick with RC3 and endure the update notifications (which I can't seem to toggle on/off) every time I log in to the Web UI.

Re: Release notes for 6.2.1
Fair enough.
As far as I know there are currently 3 of you with this problem. We don't know what apps the other 2 have installed.
I have a 316 and 6.2.1 works perfectly. I don't have apps except LMS though.
Apps do cause problems, so it is by no means clear that this problem is related to a flaw in the OS.

Final 6.2.1 update causing LAN instability/sluggishness
I am creating a dedicated thread for this issue as an offshoot of this one: viewtopic.php?f=65&t=79099
I installed all RCs (1 to 3) for 6.2.1 and did not have any problems. Last night I upgraded to the final 6.2.1 release and almost immediately began experiencing local network instability and sluggishness. The router became inaccessible through its web UI, other devices on the LAN were unable to connect to the WAN, and the router had to be physically rebooted. There was more of the same this morning after the ReadyNAS automatically powered on.
Also, the links (e.g., "eth0") did not display under Network tab in 6.2.1 final.
Downgrading to RC3 restored performance. The router immediately became accessible (without rebooting) and the links showed under the Network tab. It seems as though a minor change between 6.2.1 RC3 and final might be causing this network issue, but I can't spot the discrepancy in the RC3 changelog versus the final release notes.

Re: Release notes for 6.2.1
My router has no port forwardings at all.
Extra software:
- LMS Logitech Media Server
- CCU Historian
- Ubiquiti UniFi video
- Ubiquiti UniFi controller
...UniFi controller is new, there was no reboot since installing it (until today of course).

Here: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26242

Re: Final 6.2.1 update causing LAN instability/sluggishness
As mentioned in nsne's other posting:
After upgrading my 312 from 6.2 to 6.2.1 strange things occurred: the router (AVM Fritz!Box 7240) got hung up. I had to power cycle it.
Since then all network traffic seems to come to a halt, while the 312 is connected to the LAN.
I am not able to connect to the NAS. OS reinstall did not help.

I upgraded my 312 tonight, now I have no UI at all. I can access shares just fine. Is there a way to load the OS without having to wipe everything?

Your problem isn't the same as the others in the thread, I think.
What happens when you try to access the GUI, and how are you doing this? (https://ipaddressofnas) in a browser or Readycloud?
Have you cleared your browser cache?

Re: Final 6.2.1 update causing LAN instability/sluggishness
I just get "This web page is not available".
I have Plex installed whish is running fine, just no NAS UI. I tried a OS re-install but it's still not presenting a UI.
Access is https://ip, but now remote access isn't working either via Readycloud.
Edit: Readycloud is working.

Re: Final 6.2.1 update causing LAN instability/sluggishness
I brought my RN312 to another site. It started up.
Rear panel Ethernet port LEDs are green on / green flashing permanently (hm, according to the hardware guide, it should be green blinking / amber off).
But since then, the internet router got into an infinite boot loop at this site too (AVM Fritz!Box 6360 cable).
I can log into Admin Page. The Network interfaces tab is empty.
Logs do not show any error messages.
I was able to make a ssh connection (takes a while) and execute top:
Something seems to be wrong with this connmand.
I think it is some kind of network connection manager, but I do not have a clue.
The change date of /usr/sbin/connmand is 2014-12-17 02:46:07
Any idea, what I should do from this point on?
Kind regards, frantic

I got tired of trying to resolve this so I did a factory reset and restored my backup.
Alls well again and on 6.2.1 now. Nothing lost apart from 8 hrs restore time.

Re: Final 6.2.1 update causing LAN instability/sluggishness
Hi,
Like many of you, I cannot access the web interface since I upgraded to 6.2.1!
I don't how I can downgrade my firmware to a former version??? I can see my files from Windows, problem is just accessing the administration web interface. I don't have any backup so is there an easy way to proceed without restoring factory default?
Thank you for your help.

If you want to go back to 6.2.1 RC 3, the link is here:
viewtopic.php?f=154&t=78866
Do a manual update using the GUI, this worked for one user, there is no guarantee that it will work for you though.
It is possible that this is related to an app, so you could try removing all your apps before doing the update again, then reinstalling them. I haven't seen anyone trying this yet.

Yes, my problems appeared when I removed an application. Sorry for asking basic questions but what is the GUI you are referring to? Is there any other way to access my NAS than through the web interface? Thanks.
