From single to dual redundancy?
Hi,
I have a Pro 6 with 6 1TB drives installed. The volume is currently configured as a "RAID Level X-RAID2, 6 disks", and a status of "Redundant".
Is there an expansion strategy I can use to move to dual redundancy? I am thinking of upgrading to bigger drives anyway, so it could be done in conjunction with that move.
Thanks in advance,
Bo

Re: From single to dual redundancy?
You need a redundant array with an empty drive bay to be able to migrate to dual-redundancy without a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything).
I'd suggest you:
1. Backup all data
2. Verify backup is good
3. Upgrade to latest RAIDiator
4. Power down, remove old disks (label order)
5. Insert new disks (at least 4) and do factory default using boot menu as per FAQ
6. Discover NAS using RAIDar, click setup, choose X-RAID2, check dual-redundancy option and confirm your choice
7. Restore data from backup
You may wish to do a System > Config Backup before powering down and removing old disks, then restore it before restoring your data
